A motorcyclist had an expensive ride after being caught doing nearly double the speed limit in Beaconsfield yesterday afternoon.
State Highway Patrol members on motorbikes clocked the rider doing 150km/h in an 80km/h zone on the Princes Highway about 5pm.
The 37-year-old is expected to be charged on summons with riding an unsafe vehicle, speeding, excessive noise and wearing a non-compliant helmet.
His motorcycle was impounded for 30 days at the cost of $1390.
To top it off, the Berwick man was also found to be in breach of the directions issued by the Chief Health Officer and issued a $1652 penalty notice.
The directions by the Chief Health Officer, under the State of Emergency declared in Victoria, have been enacted to help stop the spread of Coronavirus.
